Girls’ Education Director

“We are embarking on a journey to create a co-education environment that promotes positive interactions between all students. It’s about making every girl feel she belongs – whether that be in cadets, her sporting House or in student clubs – that she feels loved valued, and seen, and is excited about being part of something we are all starting together.”

- Miss Alexandra Pollitt

Overseeing the pastoral care of all TAS girls, the Girls’ Education Director has responsibilities for the integration of all students into a co-educational environment.

Filling this role is Miss Alex Pollitt, who lives on campus as Head of Dangar House, home to our girl boarders.

Miss Pollitt assists in driving the development of co-education programs and brings much energy to the school. Coming to TAS from Flinders Christian College near Melbourne, she was previously at Camberwell Girls’ Grammar School (Melbourne), St Cyprian’s School in Cape Town South Africa, and St Phillip’s College, Alice Springs.

With the latter two being fellow Round Square schools, she is a strong supporter of the education philosophy of Round Square founder Kurt Hahn and its IDEALS (Internationalism, Environmental Stewardship, Adventure, Leadership and Service).

For three years she also worked in the non-for-profit sector with High Resolves, an organisation running youth programs in schools in several states focused on capacity-building and social action.

At TAS she additionally has responsibility for overseeing the Duke of Edinburgh program, and teaches English.
