The ongoing pandemic continues to impact on events across Australia – but with the ‘opening up’ NSW as vaccination numbers increase, the OAU and the School are pleased to advise of a new date for Reunion Weekend 2021.
The date has been set for 3-4 December, in line with the State Government’s ‘roadmap’ as we move towards what will be ‘COVID-normal’. This is the weekend immediately following the end of Term 4 and the conclusion of the HSC, when the Department of Health’s Level 3 restrictions which currently prevent visitors from coming on to a school campus, will be lifted.
While TAS will be ‘Reunion HQ’, it will mean a Reunion Weekend different to the norm. Being the first weekend of summer holidays, there will be no students on campus, although the OAU is hopeful that some of the traditional Croft Cup sporting competitions between School students and OAs will be able to take place on the Saturday, as well as some fixtures between Old Armidalians.
As a unique opportunity for this year only, because Reunion Weekend it is out of term time, attendees will also be able to purchase a ’bed and breakfast’ accommodation package. Come and stay in in a boarding house (dormitory, twin-share and single options) and enjoy a continental or cooked breakfast in the Dining Hall – corn balls included! (Limited spaces are available, and conditions will apply).
It is hoped that the weekend will kick off with welcome drinks and a barbecue on the Friday night. As usual, the Dining Hall will be the venue on Saturday night for reunions of 40 year leavers (1980) and earlier, while on Sunday the Chapel service will be followed by the OAU AGM.
In line with our public responsibility in hosting a COVID-safe event:
• Attendance at Reunion Weekend will be limited to those attending reunions for ‘0’, ‘1’, ‘5’ and ‘6’ leavers as previously advised
• Guests must abide by the relevant COVID protocols at the time
• Should the event be cancelled due to COVID full refunds will be given up to three days prior
