One of our Nurses is always “on call” outside of these hours. If a student becomes unwell, they should contact the person on duty in their House who will contact the Nurse on duty. Day students should notify their advisor or teacher that they are unwell and go to Medical Centre for evaluation.
TAS School Doctor visits the Health Centre from 8:00am to 9:00am Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.
If your child needs to see the Doctor, the Nurse will arrange for him/her to be seen by the Doctor when they attend the school Health Centre. The Nurse will then contact you following the consultation to report back.
TAS uses Discount Drug Store (formally Mount View Pharmacy) for all pharmacy needs for our boarding students. These items are put on an account and included with the students school account. We also have a small number of items such as cough lozenges, lip balm etc in stock, which can be sold to students. If a student purchases one of these items, the cost will be placed on the students school account for payment.
The Nurse is happy to organise other appointments for Dentists, Orthodontists, physios etc, at your request.
Students in Years 6, 7 and 8 will be taken to these appointments by our Health Centre staff (where possible).
Students from Year 8 upwards will usually be sent on a return journey in a taxi and the cost of this fare will be placed on the school account of the student concerned.
Students are NOT to keep ANY medication (including panadol etc) in the boarding house unless authorised by the Senior Nurse.
The Health Centre phone number is 0428 152 291. This number will get the Nurse “on duty”. Unless the matter is urgent, please phone within opening hours.
You will have received and completed a Medical Form when your child was enrolled at TAS. If you need to update any of this information please do so by contacting Sister Jacki Fletcher on 0428 152 291.
